Rough start

I am off to a not so great start with morning. I got to work this morning and had a laundry list of clients who had problems/ needed help/ wanted answers. I burned my bagel, to a black crisp and now have no breakfast. I forgot to do something last week that was really important, and remembered it this morning...

BUT "You Vandal" by Saves the Day came on my iPod just now, and none of that matters. This song can cure anything!

Adventure-filled weekend [picture heavy-ish]

We had a FANTASTIC weekend! Most of our time was spent with Ramelle and Jayk.

We went out to eat at one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the valley, La Casa Blanca in Chandler on Friday. It was 'lish. Then we introduced Rams to The Waffle House on Saturday, because she had never partaken in the goodness that is Waffley Casa. Ramelle and Jayk got me Jake (Twilight) Sweethearts. How well do they know me? I drooled at the picture of him on the box for a long time. You can see Diella above admiring the box as well. I'm teaching her young ;)

Saturday night, we had a picture-taking extravaganza, as you can see above. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! <3

Also, as an update to my "no negativity" campaign, I am doing well. I'm combating bad feelings with good ones! Today's positive thought is that I have the best family in the world, and I am SO grateful for them.

Reflection

I am feeling inspired today.

Lately, I've noticed that I have gotten way too negative. I dislike that. I don't want to be a negative person! But I'm feeling empowered, because I KNOW that it's never too late to make a change. So, starting today, I'm going to combat negative feelings/thoughts with postive ones. I can do this!

Vintage Lovelies

I have always had a softspot for gramophones. You know, the old school record players that have a horn-like speaker. I just love their vintage charm.

My favorite thing about having a record player is the old-timey sound that exudes from the speakers, even though the records are not from another era. Listening to vinyl takes me back to simpler times, and I love it. I have been on the look out for a gramophone for as long as I can remember. But alas, they are few and far between and when you do find one, they are expensive! But I will never give up the search!!

I'm in love

... with MEXICAN FOOD. Honestly, what meal can't be spruced up with salsa? And who says that chips & salsa isn't a proper breakfast? Not me! One of my favorite Mexican food restaurants of all time is Rosita's. I frequent the location on Dobson and Guadalupe, but the location in Tempe, on Hardy and University, is quite amazing as well.

Their chips and salsa are to. die. for! I skip the traditional salsa, and dive into the "hot" sauce in the squeezable container. So good and mildly spicy, it's perfect for my all the people who are sissy when it comes to hot sauce (like me). I usually get a black bean burrito, enchilada style with black beans and rice on the side. But you can't go wrong with their cheese enchiladas either!

See you at lunch, Rosita! ♥

Fall, you're just around the corner!

In anticipation of fall and in anticipation of not being in daily 100+ degree weather, I have made a "'things I love' list” about fall. Enjoy!

1. The cool weather (of course)
2. Leaves falling and turning beautiful colors
3. LEAF FIGHTS!!!
4. Long walks with my love, holding hands.
5. Scarves and caps and sweaters (and peacoats, how I love them!)
6. Hot cocoa and stew
7. Bon fires
8. BEING ACTIVE, BECAUSE I CAN. Because, honestly, who wants to go outside in the AZ heat! Not it.
9. Wearing cute tights/stockings
10. My moccasin boots
11. Writing messages in the fog of my car
12. Bundling up in blankets (where’s a slankie when you need one? Liz Lemon would be proud.)

See you soon!

Bench, anyone?

Cute porch/ garden benches are hard to come by these days. I have been in search of a bistro-ish bench for MONTHS now, and have had no luck. I know exactly what I want, but I can't find it, anywhere. I can't even find it online at a ridiculous price. But I'm not giving up!

^This is kind of the style that I'm seeking. But I only want the bench/love seat. I'm thinking of painting it a bright yellow or a blue/green color. Where aaareee you, cute bench?!

Antennas to Heaven

"We know, of course, that civil marriages end at death; but eternal marriages performed in the temple may exist forever." - President Howard W. Hunter

In preparing for my visiting teaching lesson this month, I read the quote above. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I am so thankful for Temples and sealings. It brings me such comfort to know that my family and I will be together for eternity.

Here is my (would be) back to school clothing wish list:

I've totally been obsessing with that mustard yellow color lately!
